Masterclasses

We would like to invite your aspiring Year 11 grade 9 students to a series of Masterclasses run by experienced A-level maths and further maths teachers.

CPD sessions:

We would like to invite your staff to a series of CPD sessions aimed at both developing subject knowledge of the new specification and pedagogical practice. The sessions to be delivered will include:

New Specification – New topics on the higher course that have moved from AS Level  

This session will look at topics that are now on the new GCSE scheme of work and will demonstrate tried and tested resources available to take away with you. Please bring a memory stick to this session.

Metacognition in maths 

A look into how students learn in maths and ways in which to encourage them to become unstuck without teacher intervention.

20th September

Effective Feedback 

Feedback has been proven to be one of the most effective ways for students to make progress. We will look at methods which will help to minimise workload whilst ensuring that students make the most progress.

22nd November

Aiming for a grade 9 

How do we stretch those students aiming for a grade 9? This session will be delivered by experienced A level maths and further maths teachers and will look at ways to make the most challenging topics accessible whilst stretching the most able.

Peer assessment

Following on from the effective feedback session, this session will look at ways to ensure that peer assessment is used to its full potential.

Using Geogebra to support the GCSE course

This session will look at the Geogebra programme and how it can be used to support your teaching from KS3- KS5.
